ASHLEY THOMAS, BS
Ashley Thomas was born and raised in Rockford, IL. She currently serves as the Recruitment Coordinator for Rockford Public Schools. She was previously the Executive Assistant for the Talent Development Department for Rockford Public Schools and a preschool teacher at The Ryan Jury Child Development Center. Ashley owns and operates Sweety's by Ashley. In cultivating her small business, she developed the mantra, "nothing will work unless you do". Sweety's by Ashley is a local small business birthed in her kitchen during the pandemic. She makes taffy grapes in an assortment of flavors. Entrepreneurship has recently become a passion for Ashley, and she plans to expand her business.

Ashley graduated from Northern Illinois University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with an emphasis on Leadership Studies. Ashley has also received an Adult Training Certificate from The Association of Talent Development.
Ashley has always had a heart for children. She currently serves as the Youth Director at The Word Worship Center. She has organized community events, including their annual back-to-school block party and school supply drives. Ashley has a heart for her community. She hopes to further her education by entering a Master’s program Fall of 2023.
